Asada Tacos are great! Juicy and not tough to chew through. Great house salsa accompanied them (in photo). For Revuelta pupusas didn't dig the cheese ratio to the rest of the fillings. Felt like the cheese overpowered the rest of the fillings. Great service, just a bit of a wait, that's why I knocked off the fifth star.

Small hidden gem with limited parking but the food is well worth it. Found this spot looking for a restaurant, saw it by accident and decided to stop by. Food is delicious and very mom and pop feel. Definitely coming back.

Excellent! In town for a festival and walked to the closest puseria to where we are staying. Everything is delicious and reasonably priced. The pupusas are so yummy and great size, highly recommend the seafood coconut soup. The octopus was cooked to perfection and they put in half a Dungeness crab. Completely unexpected. The fruit drinks - passion fruit and hibiscus were yummy. The proportions are large. Go go go!

The greatest Salvadoran/ Central American food in L.A. Period. I have been there several times and am always super pleased. Definitely a Mom and Pop’s place worth visiting when in the area. Perfect for hitting up before a sporting event or visiting the college campus.

La Cabanita Restaurant y Pupuseria is a true culinary gem tucked away on Normandie Avenue in Los Angeles. This cozy, mom-and-pop spot delivers an authentic Salvadoran dining experience that feels like a warm embrace from the moment you step inside. The intimate atmosphere, paired with attentive service, makes it more than just a meal—it’s a memorable occasion.

The highlight here is undeniably their pupusas, especially the Revuelta variety. While one customer noted the cheese dominated the filling, the generous portions ensure you experience a rich, savory balance of flavors. The asada tacos stand out as well, with juicy, tender meat complemented perfectly by the house-made salsa, offering a delightful contrast that excites the palate without overwhelming it.

Beyond pupusas and tacos, the menu shines with dishes like the "El Chingon" breakfast plate and Bistec encebollado, both praised for their robust flavors and satisfying portions. Seafood lovers will appreciate the standout coconut soup, brimming with perfectly cooked octopus and an unexpected touch of Dungeness crab, which showcases the kitchen’s creative approach to traditional ingredients.

Though parking can be a challenge, the food’s quality and the restaurant’s welcoming vibe make the effort worthwhile.
